Hyundai's tasty Blue Will concept car turned up at the Detroit NAIAS this week for its first showing on American soil. We got to take a close-up look at the Korean company's blue-sky plug-in hybrid and were impressed by some of the details - headlamp surrounds made from recycled PET bottles, a full undertray for sleek aeros, a glass roof impregnated with solar cells, drive-by-wire steering column and a thermal generator to turn waste heat from the combustion engine into electricity.

GMC Granit Concept

Combining an urban-industrial design aesthetic with flexible functionality, the GMC Granite ‘urban utility vehicle’ concept was introduced at the 2010 North American International Auto Show in Detroit today. “We think of the Granite as the automotive equivalent of an urban loft apartment,” said GMC's Cross-Brand Design Director Dave Lyon. “The exterior has an unmistakable industrial look, but the interior is warm and personalized.” Though the Granite is the smallest GMC ever, it has been designed to feel bigger with a large cargo space and its flipping/folding seats and four doors, hinged on each side to open like a set of French doors. There’s no pillar between the front and rear doors, making the Granite easier to enter, exit and load, even with bulky items. . Power comes from a 1.4L turbocharged engine matched with a six-speed transmission.

French mobility company Peugeot is celebrating its 200th anniversary this year and in achieving the milestone, has announced grandiose grand plans. It's the world’s second oldest car manufacturer (behind Daimler), the tenth largest car manufacturer, and with trucks, cars, motorcycles and bicycles, has the broadest range of mobility products in the world. In prep for its 300th year, it has updated the Lion logo it has been using since 1858, vowed to turn the brand into a style icon, adopted a new signature (Peugeot MOTION & EMOTION), stated its intention to move three places up the world’s auto maker ladder (to seventh) by 2015 with a massive new model offensive, announced a fascinating new credit/online/rental mobility service entitled Mu by Peugeot and took the wraps off a superb new hybrid 4WD and four-wheel-steering sports car – the SR1.

In a hitherto unique project bridging various fields of profession, the trainees of Daimler AG at the Sindelfingen Mercedes-Benz plant have built a Roadster with fuel cell drive. For about a year, more than 150 trainees and dual education system students worked on the overall concept, development, assembly, and completion of the F-CELL Roadster.

This project involved junior employees from the fields of automotive mechatronics, model-building, electronics, coating technology, manufacturing mechanics, product design, and interior appointments. The prime objective of the project was to integrate the topic of alternative drive systems into training with hands-on experience.

2009 Saturn Sky

The Saturn Sky is a two-seat convertible combining power, a host of amenities and a stylish appearance for an affordable price.

For the new SLS, Mercedes-Benz and AMG have developed a puristic sports car interior that combines lightweight construction with dynamism and high emotional appeal. Opening the unique swing-wing doors reveals an interior of a decidedly sporty nature – and immediately brings an aircraft cockpit to mind. The central design theme of "aviation engineering" is reflected in the wing-shaped dashboard, the centre console in the style of a jet's operating console and the four striking air vents reminiscent of aircraft engines.

The interior of this new swing-wing car offers authentic motor sports practicality, the safety typical of a Mercedes and outstanding ergonomics. 2010 Mercedes Benz E-Class By Carlsson

Carlsson presented its latest kit for the 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class which will be officially unveiled at the Tuning World Bodensee in Friedrichshafen, between 30 April and 3 May 2009.

As you can see from the photo, released by the tuning company, the new sedan received some serious modifications such as: a completely new front apron with vertically mounted daytime running LEDs and stainless steel grille, new front fenders with air inlets, side sills, a new rear air diffuser with integrated 4-pipe exhaust system and a discreet rear spoiler. According to the manufacturer the whole aerodynamic package is made of polyurethane (PU-RIM).

2010 Mercedes Benz S65 AMG

The Shanghai Auto Show hosted the world premiere of the top-of-the-line 2010 Mercedes-Benz S-Class models, the S63 AMG and S65 AMG. While retaining the same powertrains as the pre-facelift models, both AMG cars have received a series of subtle cosmetic and mechanical tweaks. The S65 AMG features a 6.0-litre biturbo V12 engine producing 612HP and 1000Nm or 737 lb/ft, accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in 4.4 sec.

Mercedes-Benz claims that in the S65 AMG, it has improved fuel economy and decreased CO2 emissions by around three per cent by retuning the car's engine management system.

Styling-wise, the S65 shares much with the S63, including a new chrome grille, LED running lights, full LED taillights and a revised rear fascia. The S65 sees similar changes inside, complete with a number of active and passive safety systems, along with Mercedes new Splitviewdisplay.

2009 BRABUS Mercedes ML 63 Biturbo

Based on the Mercedes AMG ML 63, the new BRABUS ML 63 Biturbo was officially unveiled at the 2009 Geneva Auto Show. The car is now powered by a 6.3-liter V8 engine that produces a maximum power of 650 hp (478 kW) and a maximum speed of 310 km/h (194 mph).

Obviously, the car includes several styling accessories, including the WIDESTAR package, forged 23-inch wheels and leather, Alcantara plus carbon fiber inside.
